Wrestlemania 4.0

February 27, 2008

Well in case you missed Wrestlemania earlier promotional video, you can find it here.

Also, Light It Up by Rev Theory have been recently added to this year Wrestlemania’s theme list. You can view it here.

OK, first start! What’s are the new updates for Mania?

Cena/Triple H/Randy Orton match have been hugely overshadowed by Mayweather/Show match. Which i find it personally kind of sad when the MAIN event is supposed to be the one that sells the most. In any case, wrestling fans are getting paranoid over Cena’s role in his new movie. I can strongly assured the fans that Cena role will not affect his match outcome at Mania.

Edge/Undertaker match is evolving something predictable as of late, but I love the reaction of how this feud is turning, especially when Taker is such a favorite.

Chavo/Punk feud is hitting the last phase smoothly. Frankly, I enjoyed their feud, each week.

Mayweather’s 20 million earning from Wrestlemania is getting huge attention from media of all areas. Expect him to appear in external interview shows in weeks to come. Big Show has been announced to be on the Smackdown roster but any brand would still cover this feud since it is the ATTENTION now. Rumors have sparked for Shane Mcmahon to be involved in some ways.

Shawn/Flair have been set. Legend Vs Legend. While many anticipate Ric Flair to lose, writers might hold Ric for a while longer. Now, that’s the killer. In any case, both of them squared off sometimes back in 2003/4’s Bad Blood PPV. Re-doing this match and hyping it to this extent is a bit blunt. Shawn is also expect to induct Ric Flair into the Hall Of Fame this year.

Y2J/JBL storyline have been canceled. It is said that Vince is behind this sudden change. He doesn’t like the way things are turning, especially the fans reaction to this tasteless grudge. Writers fault seriously.

As mentioned earlier, I knew Finlay is up to some secrecy. Now that they announced Finlay to be Hornswoggle’s dad. Things are definitely getting better. I am still trying to make sense over JBL/Vince vs. Hornswoggle/Finlay. It looks like a forcefully mixed dish to me. In any case, Hornswoggle/Mcmahon angle will set to end after Wrestlemania.

Poor Jericho. His return seems to be going down hill months after months. Now he is involved with Jeff/Shelton/Kennedy in the MITB.

Candice Michelle/Maria and The Glamazon & Melina. Typical of WWE to do at Wrestlemania but I am still looking forward to it. Puppies! (Jerry The King Lawler voice suddenly sounded in my head. Lol!)

Batista is said to be feuding with Umaga on the RAW Vs Smackdown angle.

There might be a huge tag team brawl involving Morrison/Miz, Jimmy/Shannon, Mark Henry/Daddy V, Curt Hawkins/Zack Ryder at Wrestlemania.

There are news leaked backstage that Matt Hardy is set to return this week on Smackdown. No words have been confirmed. If he do return, MVP is surely on his top list of rivalry.

Hogan/Austin name have not been added to this year Wrestlemania.

However, The Rock and Mick Foley might make an appearance. Speaking of The Rock, he would induct his grandfather and father at this year Hall Of Fame.

A Matt/Jeff Story

February 21, 2008

Amazon.com has updated their pre-order of the two-disc DVD set on Matt/Jeff Hardy. It would be released on 29 April, you can view the promotional poster here.

Speaking of this highly anticipated video, Matt Hardy has posted his own preview on his blog which have been updated here at WrestlingMAT.

“Now that I’ve had the chance to watch both DVDs a few times-here’s more info for you guys and gals. There is one DVD dedicated to me. It cover all my roads traveled in the WWE, as well as the early Hardy Boyz days to catch everyone up to speed. It covers splitting with Jeff, Version One, Mattitude, The Edge-Lita-Matt controversy, the MVP-Matt saga, and a bunch, bunch more. It’s got several awesome extras and Easter Eggs on in. The Core Group of Matt, Jeff, Shane, and Shannon also have a couple of segments on the disc. Plus, there’s several of my greatest matches.”

“Jeff has a disc dedicated to him as well. It covers Jeff’s very memorable ordeals with Triple H and the Undertaker, as well as those matches. The DVD also goes into great detail about Jeff leaving and then returning to the WWE. It also includes several exclusive Jeff extras and Easter Eggs, as well as several of Jeff’s greatest matches.”

I stumbled upon Jeff’s official blog as well. It’s one of the most unique blog I ever seen. Nothing to do with wrestling, just Jeff, unique or special you would like to call him, his blog have been updated here at WrestlingMAT as well.

RVD Lashes Out On The Game And More!

February 4, 2008

In case you missed this interview on RVD thoughts, here is it.

On his WWE Title win: “WWE never planned on pushing me, they had no choice because the fans demanded it. I was told, that it was Paul (Heyman) idea to put the Championship Title on RVD to kickstart ECW, And… one of the boys, that’s married to one of the boss’ daughters, actually said that “RVD just doesn’t have that connection with the crowd”. Now, is that a genuine comment, or is that a back-stabbing, throat-slicing comment to try and keep yourself from feeling threatened by somebody else?”

On whether he is bitter over his WWE run: “Honestly, I don’t feel I am bitter at all. When I went to WWE, in the summer of 2001, I didn’t even want to go. It was never my favorite style of wrestling. At that point in my career, it was all business, and I was already tired of traveling. I already really peaked my interest in ECW, as an artist.

On the ECW revival in WWE moving away from the original ECW concept: “When they squashed the spirit of ECW, I was still kicking on the way out. I would tell Vince, “If you do this, the ECW fans aren’t going to like this, that’s not what this is about.” That’s when I realized (it was doomed) because he told me, exactly “Rob, I never intended this to be like the old ECW. Nobody remembers the old ECW.” I’d say, “You’ve got to be kidding me! You don’t think anybody remembers it? Why do you think the Pay-per-view was so successful, and the DVD! Isn’t that why you’re bringing it back?” (Does Vince McMahon voice) “Rob, for all I know, those 2500 fans at the Manhattan Center were the last of the old ECW fans.”

On Rob’s appreciation of his fans: “I would be the only person who would go out behind the building and … oh wait, that was something else I used to do (laughs). I would go out back and I would sign autographs for the fans that are waiting out there, and they would say “Oh Rob, you’re the only one who has come up to us all day!” and I would say “Of course, it’s pouring rain, and you’ve been standing under a tree all day, you don’t expect wrestlers to come out here, do you?” But I would usually do it, because I would get energy out of that, and know that they would remember that.”

Credits to SportsTalkCleveland.com for this interview.

Rob Van Dam have also officially announced the creation of an online show entitled RVD-TV. On this show, he will give his fans a glimpse at what his life is like outside of the wrestling business. A preview for this upcoming series can now be found on the homepage of his website. Van Dam is expected to voice his opinions on political matters through this show.

The format of RVD-TV is similar to The Hardy Show, an online reality series about the personal lives of Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy, whose lives intertwine with that of Shannon Moore’s.

I’ve updated RVD’s official website here. It is one of the coolest page i ever seen. You guys should check it out.

The Star Award: January In Review

February 2, 2008

Welcome to the first ever January In Review of The Star Award. . I have to say, the past month was really amazing. It was the start of WrestlingMAT as well as great storylines from the world of wrestling. We looked back to various highlights and have constantly been penning our nominees.

Man Of The Month: Jeff Hardy
Cena’s return definitely worth some marks but Jeff continuous hard work on his skills, his crowd reaction and his speech won him the prestigious award. We contemplated Triple H and we all concluded that he was just too overrated.

Match Of Month The 21st Royal Rumble Match
This year Royal Rumble was amazing. It came to us as a surprise with the amount of humor and crowd reaction for the match, and also how it was so well-planned. A few nominees include Triple H Vs Ric Flair and Jeff Vs Umaga Steel Cage match.

Moment Of Month: John Cena Won The Royal Rumble
We booked Jeff Hardy’s death defying leap from the titantron as the winner until when we are all shocked over Cena’s return. It came so close for these two.

Diva Of The Month: Michelle McCool
Chuck’s Gf, Michelle McCool angle was interesting. Tug and tassel over every week on Smackdown has made Michelle McCool fame goes way up. We gave some sympathy marks as well for her injury. We contemplated over Beth Phoenix , but she was not given enough air time.

Feud Of The Month Jeff Hardy Vs Randy Orton
One of the few notable feud this month, was Jeff Vs Orton. JBL/Jericho was too monotonous which each week bashing each other over the mic. Edge/Mysterio seems cool until the story evolved more on Edge/Punk. Jeff and Orton feud was nicely built up and came with an eventful close. Chavo/Punk was way off.

News Of The Month: Bobby Lashley Departure
The shocker of this month. Bobby Lashley departure rose immediately to the top, beating several other news such as Ron Killings/Big show return. Bobby has always been a pleasant wrestler, it came to us as an unaware blow, topping 3 posts in just one week

Tag Team Of The Month: Jimmy Wang Yang/Shannon Moore
We love to watch this tag team in action. They have the momentum, and each week they just get better and better. It is a pity that WWE Tag Team title was not on their waist. DX was on the list but they are just too irregular.

And here we go! The Star Winners for January!
