It must be nice to be able to sit at home, receive hefty WWE paycheck without doing anything – and that’s what Bobby Lashley is getting now. As part of the agreement on his release, WWE has agreed to pay Bobby Lashley his full contract until the end of May. In exchange, Bobby Lashley will not be allowed to jump to TNA during this period of time.

WWE’s internet marketing department have been rather aggressive lately. WWE now has official accounts on YouTube, Flickr and Facebook. Marty Jannetty was among the many wrestling names at the recent WrestleSlam UK convention. Jannetty stated to the press that nowadays people in WWE are being brought up way too soon and put into positions they’re not ready for. Jannetty used Mr Kennedy as an example. Well first up, the incest storyline have started between Paul Burchill and his sister Katie Lea on RAW. Vince has always wanted to do an incest angle for years. He once suggested to be the father of his daughter Stephanie’s baby. As revealed on the McMahon DVD, Stephanie turned down the story. It is said that the “return of the incest angle” was initiated by both Paul and Katie. Thankfully, they are not related by blood in reality.

Carlito’s youngest brother Eddie Colowill has debuted in Florida Championship Wrestling this past week. He’s been down there training for the past few weeks since leaving Puerto Rico. You can catch him in action here.

There have been recent rumors on Eminem joining WWE a few days ago. I chose not to report it then because i speculated that it would be some prank from some idiots (as always). Indeed, the spokeperson of Eminem have cleared these speculations. Recently, there have been similar case happening to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. An impersonator claimed that Dwayne obtained gifts and memorabilia from Manchester Football club. The impersonator has been sued for fraud charges.

Well speaking of The Rock, he recently appeared with Orlando Jones and the Governator, Arnold Schwartzenegger at a banquet in Beverly Hills. They got together to commemorate the 8 year partnership between Audemars Piguet and Afterschool All-stars. You can view the pictures here.

WWE has announced that effective from 2010, Mattel will become the exclusive toy licensee covering all global territories upon the expiration of their current toy license with JAKKS Pacific Inc. If you are wondering where is RAW’s DAMM nice man, Ron Simmons, he has recently took up WWE’s rehab offer. Simmons is currently staying at a rehab center in Atlanta along with Jake “The Snake” Roberts and Scott Hall. Just earlier today, Jake has expressed his gratitude to the company. I’ve updated his blog link at WM.

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are expecting their 2nd child sometime this summer. The couple already have a baby daughter together. Current WWE Champion, Randy Orton is also expecting to be a dad for the first time. With Cena taking over, it would be a good time for him to take a break for his family.

WrestlingMAT has learned that AAA is trying to sign Booker T and Rob Van Dam for a huge show next month. AAA, which is one of the top wrestling promotions in Mexico, really wants both superstars to make an appearance at the Rey de Reyes show in Monterrey. Ron Killings would be there too.

WWE will be expanding to the China market soon, which will be good news for Asian wrestling fans. Recently they received a prestigious award for its community outreach in China. They have also signed Miss China, Angela Fong to WWE. She will report to Floria Championship Wrestling first before debuting in main rosters.

Kurt Angle recently discussed how WWE like to over work talents on a Radio talkshow. Angle also said that when he worked for WWE that he would only get to come home about five days in a month. Then they asked him about Brock Lesnar and Kurt surprisingly semi-complimented him by saying he was a good in ring competitor but then stated that he was a “mental midget,” claiming Lesnar could not do well under pressure. Apparently, Lesnar has been cool about this.

Lexi Pillman, step daughter of the late Brian Pillman is close to making her wrestling debut. Kind of interesting that she would choose to join the wrestling business given that she have good paper qualifications.

Welcome to the first ever, Off The Mainstream. This section is specially dedicated on every Tuesday to cover minor news that involves personal talk of the town. They are like the deserts, and not the main dish and hopefully it suits your taste, once in a while.

First up! Hulk Hogan’s American Gladiators has been renewed for a second season. American Gladiators is a competitive television program that matched a cast of amateur athletes against each other, as well as against the show’s own “gladiators”, in contests of strength and agility. Hulk Hogan will start taping the new episodes in March of this year. The episodes will then begin airing in July.

Torrie Wilson has recently admitted on “The Weekly Spice Dish” that she had suffered from anorexic before. She also gave a brief update on her back condition and also lashed out on people who undermined wrestling. “‘Oh, it’s may be just a show. But everything we do is very physical and very athletic. You have to be an athlete. I just had four big shots in my back for a nerve block.”

Several TNA and WWE stars are reported in attendance for Brock Lesnar’s recent UFC debut. Those who were spotted on camera include the Undertaker, John “Bradshaw” Layfield, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Kurt Angle. In particularly, Kurt Angle and the Undertaker had a pretty long conversation. On a personal note, I am amazed by UFC overall performance. *Note* Their matches are not cooked.

Philly radio personality Chris Booker has been quoted as saying in recent Philadelphia Daily News that WWE has offered Philadelphia’s news anchor, Alycia Lane an on-air role with the company. WrestlingMAT has learned that Stone Cold Steve Austin recently had his name changed legally. Steve Williams has legally changed his to Steve Austin due to copyrights, trademarks, and other financially motivated reasons. We believe it woud be easier for him as well to penetrate into the Hollywood with an established name.

About two weeks ago, WrestlingMAT has promised an update on Vince’s appearance on Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice. You can view the teaser here and also Vince full boardroom appearance here.
